As İşbank, we are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within our workplace, aligning our efforts with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals: "Gender Equality" (SDG 5), "Decent Work and Economic Growth" (SDG 8), and "Reduced Inequalities" (SDG 10).
Celebrating our 100th anniversary year, we stand as one of the Republic of Turkey's most foundational institutions.
Throughout history, we have played a significant transformative role in the national economy and consistently supported our female employees since our establishment. At our institution, where gender equality is fundamental and equal opportunities are provided in every field from the start of employment, we believe it is essential to create a more livable world where more women participate in economic life and improve their societal status.
Our bank regards gender equality as an integral part of our sustainability efforts, upheld within the framework of our corporate culture by the Sustainability Committee. Considering the social dimension of sustainability, the Committee plans and implements concrete actions.
As stated in our Board-approved Gender Equality Policy, the Bank's commitment to equality extends beyond biological sexes, ensuring equal treatment for all employees without discrimination.
Reinforcing our commitment to an equitable approach in 2020 by becoming a signatory to the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). In 2022, our Bank became a member of the 30% Club, an international initiative to improve gender balance across all levels of companies by increasing female representation on boards and maintaining this mission. As İşbank, we have also been included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, which measures the performance of companies committed to gender equality globally and is one of the most comprehensive studies in the field of gender equality.
In March 2023, we published the "İşbank Declaration on Women’s Empowerment", prioritising the advancement of women's roles in the workplace, securing equal rights, facilitating access to financial services, preventing discrimination and implicit biases in marketing activities, and developing positive impact practices that consider all stakeholders in the value chain. The declaration outlines our commitment to providing ₺ 100 billion in financing to women entrepreneurs by 2028 and connecting 15,000 women entrepreneurs with financial literacy, thus supporting their more active participation in economic life.
As an institution with a 53% female workforce, we aim to continue developing new, innovative, and best practices across a wide range, from human resources to customer-facing sales/marketing activities, from procurement functions to areas of corporate social responsibility.
