"We Remove Barriers and Celebrate Diversity in the Workplace"

According to estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other organizations, millions of people around the world are considered disabled. According to WHO, approximately 15% of the world's population lives with some form of disability.

This means that approximately 1 billion people worldwide have a disability. Therefore, it is clear that there is a significant population of individuals with disabilities worldwide. Well, let's examine together what we are doing.

Disability Equity and Innovation

Toyota, a leading brand in the world automotive industry, not only acts with its value-oriented approach, continuous innovation and customer-oriented service principles, but also takes important steps towards different segments, being aware of its social responsibility.

Toyota has developed various projects to ensure equality and justice in the working environment for disabled individuals. These projects are not only limited to business life and support individuals to take more part in business life, but also have undertaken various social responsibility projects in order to raise awareness in society and inspire them to overcome obstacles. We contribute to the creation of a more inclusive environment in society by organizing events that encourage the more active participation of disabled individuals in social life.

We know that one of the biggest problems faced by disabled individuals is transportation. Our goal with “No Barriers, There is Toyota” is to raise awareness in society and provide ease of transportation for disabled individuals. Many disabled citizens do not have sufficient information when purchasing a vehicle, so we want to increase public awareness. We support them in enjoying safe and enjoyable driving with the accelerator pedal kit and steering wheel handle developed according to their disability.

Solutions for disabled drivers

When the right leg is dysfunctional, an accelerator pedal kit is installed to the left of the brake pedal due to the inability of the driver's right foot or leg to function. The additionally installed accelerator pedal is removable, allowing drivers without disabilities to easily use these vehicles. This modification is only applicable to vehicles with automatic transmission.

For drivers with a dysfunctional left leg, vehicles with automatic transmission are suitable for use without any modifications. Drivers with a disabled medical report and a driver's license suitable for disabled driving will be exempt from Special Consumption Tax in Türkiye.

In-House Solutions for Disabled Employees

There are five disabled personnel working under three different directorates within the company. These employees can work from home full-time, benefiting from the disabled quota. After six months, they have the right to own a vehicle without waiting for a tender.
