Every Voice is Equal Project
By placing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at the center of our business culture, we have implemented many important projects in these areas. At Yorglass, we started the journey of 'Every Voice is Equal', where our voices are heard together and in the same tone, away from stereotypes, for a better future. Yorglass's 'Every Voice is Equal' Project is an initiative launched to promote gender equality in the workplace and strengthen the voices of female employees.
This project is an initiative carried out within the scope of the "Equal at Work Certificate" and aims to support the company's commitments to gender equality with concrete steps.
The project focuses on supporting women's career development, increasing their access to leadership opportunities and reducing the difficulties they face in the workplace. In this context, we undertake different projects. The first of these is the Women's Mentoring Program.
This program, designed specifically for Yorglass's 50th anniversary, aims to help young female leadership candidates shape their career paths by mentoring them. Experienced female managers of our company share their knowledge and experiences with 50 female students selected from universities all over Turkey.
YorfutureFORHER Summer Internship Program
In order to strengthen women's employment and enhance the place and role of women in management, we have redesigned our current talent program, YorFuture, as FORHER under the scope of our Every Voice is Equal project. This program, launched to support young female talents, offers participants the opportunity to gain practical experience in various departments of Yorglass and expand their professional networks.
Mother Child Education Foundation Collaboration
As Yorglass, another milestone on this journey is our collaboration with the Mother Child Education Foundation (AÇEV). In cooperation with AÇEV, we organize training sessions, seminars, and webinar series focusing on workplace equality.
The Shadow of the Young People on the Executive Board
We created the Shadow Executive Team to provide innovative and diverse perspectives to our company's strategic decision-making processes. This team, consisting of members drawn from various departments, supports the company's senior executive committee. The Shadow Executive Team integrates visions and insights from different disciplines into the company's decision-making processes. In 2023, this team, comprising 3 female and 2 male members, incorporated diverse voices and took active roles in areas such as our company's technology integration, sustainability practices, and expansion into global markets. Moving forward, they will continue to support the company's innovative projects and develop strategies to address sectoral challenges by advancing the 'Collective Intelligence' concept.
The Shadow Executive Team demonstrated impressive performance through OKR (Objectives and Key Results) teams in 2023 to support company strategies and reinforce unity among employees. These teams played an active role with 72 people working on 44 different KRs (Key Results) in the company's six strategic areas: competitiveness, human resources, customer satisfaction, brand value, digital transformation, and market growth. The main objectives of these projects are to create a common goal awareness so that all employees adopt the general goals of the company, to align their individual goals accordingly, and to support teamwork by making the goals of the company and departments visible on digital platforms.
Our Goal: A More Sustainable Yorglass World with DEI Principles
Our company's future goals and plans in the field of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) focus on supporting continuous development and our mission to create positive change in society. As Yorglass, we plan to expand existing DEI policies and further integrate diversity and inclusion into all business processes. We aim to increase training and awareness programs to make our employees more conscious and sensitive about DEI issues.
These programs are designed to promote equity and diversity in the workplace while contributing to the personal and professional development of our employees. Increasing sustainability awareness through projects and encouraging green transformation in the sector are among our primary goals. We aim to spread DEI principles globally by expanding collaborations and partnerships. We believe this will facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experiences from different cultures and foster a common understanding of diversity and inclusion on a global scale.
Additionally, we will continue to integrate DEI principles with our technology and innovation strategies. We plan to contribute to our transformation-oriented innovative processes such as technology integration, sustainability practices, and global market expansion in our projects.
Being a Woman at Yorglass
At Yorglass, we have initiatives that offer special programs and mentoring opportunities to encourage female employees to rise to leadership roles and ensure gender equality. We aim to include more women, especially in technical and senior management positions. We provide policies such as report card days, flexible working hours, remote work options, and parental leave to help our female employees balance their careers and personal lives.
Regular trainings and seminars are conducted to raise awareness about gender equality and the challenges women may face in the workplace. These programs aim to educate both male and female employees on gender equality issues. We support women's advancement to senior management roles through internal leadership development programs and appointments.
With the feedback we receive through the Ming application, we gain a better understanding of the difficulties faced by female employees and develop solutions for these challenges. This feedback also helps us create new policies and practices that support women's leadership and enhance equity in the workplace.
